Stef-Albert Bothma graduated with a Doctorate in Piano summa cum laude from the University of Washington in 1996 where he studied with Bela Siki. A recipient and winner of numerous prominent awards and scholarships, his vast repertoire includes the complete sonatas and concerti by Beethoven and the entire piano ouvre by Debussy. His playing has been hailed as "mesmerizing and magical with a virtuosic command that appears effortless and natural." What sets him apart is his diverse interest and skills in the Fine Arts. Dr. Bothma owns Stef-Albert Studios, an award-winning international design and architectural firm, and is also a sought-after artist who's works are in prominent private and corporate collections. His sold out exhibits in the U.S., Canada and Europe have distinguished him as a revolutionary in the art world while the integration of his skills set him aside from the norm in all three genres. The Girls of Summer Off-Broadway Cabaret Debut with Pianist James Weiss
Photographed here with Broadway performer and director Edwin Cahill, the canzone duo delivered a sultry and sassy tour of summer, filled with sun-kissed spirit and unexpected musical stories that brought audiences to their feet. The lively program included music by Sondheim, Coleman, Schwartz, Blossom Dearie (in tribute), and Weill. Selling out within days of concert announcement, an encore reprise will be scheduled in 2010 season.
South Nyack Recital Series with Pianist Carol Wong
A passionate and heartfelt concert pairing solo piano music with its vocal counterpart influences, spanning composers from Argentina, Russian, France and Italy. Truly captivating in its interactive style, this program took listerners through Schumann's most romantic songs and piano works, Chopin's fluid character in friendship with Bellini's bel canto "beautiful singing" style, the flair of Ginastera's soulful Spanish songs and pianistic virtuosity, and Glinka's piano transcription of a simple yet lovely Russian folk tune.
Aspen Music Festival Weill and Gershwin Showcase with

First premiered at the Aspen Music Festival in Wheeler Opera House, the canzone duo frequently features a Kurt Weill/IraGershwin set in recital and house concerts. The duo chooses songs that have a modern twist on romance that transcend time, like Weill's "That's Him" and "I'm a Stranger Here Myself" coupled with Gershwin's "Someone to Watch Over Me." Pianologue Soiree Society of the Arts Appearances, New York
With internationally reknowned Bach pianist and composer Anthony Newman, Allegri and Buckley performed Glenn Gould's "So, You Want to Write a Fugue" with Newman at the piano, joined with bass Aaron Ingersoll and tenor Oliver Mercer.
